About Kathy Brosnan
Traveling, art, and photography are integral to my life; they are part of me. I am never without my cameras. I’ve traveled to many countries since graduating from school when my parents gave me a second-hand 35mm camera and I never looked back. I’ve purchased many other sophisticated cameras along the way but I still have that first camera. That camera captured so many fond memories for me.
Fortunately, I worked many years in the travel industry, which allowed me to travel freely and often. I combined my love of art and travel and integrated both into my lifestyle. I’ve driven across the United States dozens of times, while hiking and photographing the most beautiful National Parks. I’ve been to the Hawaiian Islands numerous times; the extraordinary beauty draws me back frequently. Travel and being able to photograph these celebrated locations has expanded my artistic vision and compassion for humanity.
I studied photography for two years before going to art school full-time. I learned to print my own black-and-white photographs in the darkroom and studied from photographers who eventually became world-renown. I graduated with a BFA from California College of the Arts with a Fine Arts Degree and a Certificate in Gallery Management. I learned how to paint, studied composition, and art history, and, primarily, learned to see the world through an artist’s eye.
